Visiting Anna's ranch stirred up a lot of different emotions for me.  The various images, sounds, and smells gave me a sense of pride, richness, and appreciation.  It took me back to my childhood and gave me a better insight into my husbands.  My husband comes from a long line of very prestigious cowboys.  He has been blessed with a gift that not many men are able to master.  However, this gift often comes with a large price.  On in which have lead to many arguments.  My husbands love and passion for ranching is much like Anna's.  Being here today has soften my heart with regards to my husbands passion.  Seeing the pictures of my husbands grandfather and my uncles up on Anna's walls has given me a better understanding about my husbands passion and driving force.  It has given me the opportunity to get to know the man whom I've never meet who was such huge influence in my husbands upbringing and skill.  I've always been told about the gift that my husbands grandfather and husband posses and being here today has made it all more evident.  It give me great pride to know that my husbands grandfather and husband worked among the many who are skilled enough to work this land.  As I sat on the grass looking up to Hoku Ula I could envision my husband and his ohana driving cattle and taking such pride in their work, a quality that not all men possess.

Much of the antiques that I have seen in Anna's house I have either seen in my father and mother in-laws saddle room or in my papa's house.  These antiques also take me back to my childhood when my brothers and I use to play at my papa and nana's house.  Like Anna's home my grandparents also have a lot of the same antiques (phone, sewing machine, coke machine, etc.)

Visiting Anna's ranch today has given me a better appreciation for my husbands passion and the opportunity to reminisce into my childhood.
